Bumbo Seat
If you are a mummy like me and sometimes wish to have 8 hands like the octopus, then the Bumbo seat is your saver!
I first saw it some 4 years ago when I first had a baby. It says that a 3 month old baby can start sitting in it. Being a little skeptical, I tried it and voila! It really does work!
The soft foam seat is able to provide the support that a baby needs even though he cannot sit properly on his own yet. The durable surface also makes it easy for us mummies to clean up after the mess which the baby has made – from their food to their poop!
What’s more, it is extremely light, so you can just bring it anywhere with you. I have brought it to restaurants, parks, beach, to name a few and I have used it for feeding, interacting, bathing, “parking” – when I have to do work and the baby does not want to lie down!
Because the baby is able to sit up, he is able to enjoy his world from a different view. And because the baby has a different view, it helps build his experience and enhances his ability to interact with other people too.
It comes in a variety of colours – blue, aqua, yellow, lime, lilac and pink. Can be found in all major baby shops and retails for RM199.90. But do check out the respective shops as I understand there may be discounts offered.
One thing to note though. As soon as the baby has gained sufficient lower body strength, he can potentially get out of the seat. So, you will need to be very careful here. My son managed to get himself half-in, half-out because he tried very hard to get off it, but lacked the strength to actually get out completely. He wailed really loudly for help …
